Piano Lessons and Small Group Music Lessons Online – Registration Open

I’ve been making all kinds of website changes and tweaks, and have found a studio management site that seems to work pretty well so far. Given our current pandemic, I’m moving everything online, hoping that this makes things easier for everyone.

I know that it may be difficult for a good number of people to have secure sources of income, so I’ve decided to charge a very small registration fee of $20 to hold a space. That amount will eventually go towards tuition once a lesson time is confirmed.

I’m also looking at more ways to make lessons engaging, given the challenge that online learning can present, especially for the little ones. Prezi for Educators seems promising, and I’m considering making videos to complement lessons, even though I’m seriously camera shy.

Sadly, my laptop computer doesn’t seem to be working consistently, so I may be in the market for a new one. I’ve determined that two cameras work best for switching quickly to and from a view of the keyboard. Luckily my old Zoom Q2HD still works really well, so I have something to work with in the meantime. I’ve also been thinking about a tablet and pen to easily scribble notes while explaining a concept. Holding up a white board toward the camera doesn’t really make a lesson flow very well. I know it’s nerdy, but I actually enjoy shopping for tech and knowing what’s possible. If anyone has good product suggestions, let me know.

To anyone thinking of signing up, registration will continue as long as there is space, but registering by August will ensure a wide selection of time slots.
